Abstract

Introduction: Dilated cardiomyopathy (DCM) is a syndrome characterized by cardiac enlargement and impaired systolic function of one or boath ventricles. Hypocalcemia is a rare and potentially reversible cause heart, resulting in an increased beating rate of isolated heart cells and positive inotropic action.

Discussion: Myocardial contractile function requires caluium, Hypocalcemia secondary to hypoparathyroidism my cause a DCM and heart failure. Musse3 reported a 39 year old female patient with refractory heart failure,which is caused by hypoparathyroidism developed following subtotal thyroidectomy.
